A central issue in practical philosophy concerns the relation between moral blameworthiness and normative reasons. As there has been little of direct exchange debate on reasons blameworthiness, this topic not received attention it deserves. In paper, I consider two notions about that are fundamental respective field. The might seem incontrovertible when considered individually, but argue they together entail claims highly contentious. particular, maintain unreasonable contradictory since practices blame rational criticism diverge with regard to three dimensions: justification, response, function. Thus, we need give up one principal notions. solutions puzzle suggest connection rationality is weaker than standardly presumed metaethics.
